The Interacting Summer School for young learners will be organised according to the Interacting philosophy of participation through drama techniques and enjoyment, as applied in our teacher training courses. We are sure that this will differentiate the course from other summer camps and schools available. Our aim is to have a wide variety of students of differing nationalities and backgrounds from across Europe and beyond (with a total of 60-80 students). In order to do this best, we are establishing key contacts in several different countries: each will be responsible for promoting the course, and informing interested students and parents. The contacts we choose will be expected to supply a minimum of 8 students from their country through personal recommendations or other means and may attend the course as monitors-trainees or teachers.
In particular we are keen to work with contacts who are experienced teachers who have attended Interacting teacher training sessions and seminars. We expect to limit the participation from any single country to about 20 students.
Specifically we intend to establish the following types of key contact: Key Contact�Teacher: to travel with the group of 8-20 students from each country and work as teachers on the course. These teachers must be qualified and experienced English teachers who have attended an Interacting Teacher Training course. As well as travel expenses, board, and teacher�s pay, these key contacts will receive a per-student fee for their group. Key Contact � Monitor/Trainee: to take the role of monitor for a group of 8 to 20, escorting students from their country. They would travel with the students, and perform light monitoring duties. As well as receiving travel expenses and board, these key contacts will have the opportunity of attending teaching sessions as trainees. Agent: to promote and refer bookings, in return for a referral fee. Agents would not travel to Belfast for the course.
